In 2019, Lin laid the foundation for his grandest vision: an 8,000-square-meter museum in Penang, Malaysia, designed and conceived by him. Slated to open on December 14, 2025, the Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery will house 300 of his own works and 200 from global artists, embodying his dream to make art a catalyst for global peace and harmony.
Rising majestically along The Light Waterfront in Gelugor, Penang, the Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery stands as a beacon of art, culture, and international unity. Scheduled for completion in Dec 2025, this iconic 8-storey gallery represents a RM100 million investment in Penang’s cultural future, named in honor of the world-renowned artist Prof Lin Xiang Xiong.
At the heart of this architectural marvel lies a sweeping 86,929 square feet space dedicated to the arts. The gallery will showcase over 300 original works by Prof Lin, with an additional over 1000 pieces rotated periodically to offer fresh perspectives and evolving narratives. Beyond its exhibition halls, the structure will house retail shops, a restaurant, and a basement car park, making it a multifaceted hub for art lovers and visitors alike.
More than just an art space, the gallery is envisioned as a platform for global cultural exchange—a meeting point where Eastern and Western traditions intertwine. It aims to elevate Penang’s cultural and artistic standing on the world stage, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere of diversity, harmony, and unity.
“Cultural and artistic works possess the power to promote global peace,” said Professor Lin. “Through art, we can infuse society with positive energy and guide hearts back to the right path.”
